Fellow Slanters,

After a long break, Slant Six Racing News has been rekindled. Thanks to Menko Johnson, Doug Dutra, and Brian Mimken, we have finally finished issue #53.

You can download in different formats on this page:

http://www.slantsix.org/ssrn/

We hope to get the next issue out quite early in the racing season, and we can really use some help with articles.

Happy Reading!

Lou

Thats a great looking issue folks! Thanks for all the work that went into it. I'll plan on writing the article for the Mason Dixon (Hagerstown) Race for 2010. That is if we have at least 16 cars!!

Thanks, Frank and Rick.

Rick, can you print a copy and give to the Mason-Dixon guys? That would be great. Do we have a date for 2010 yet??

Best,

Lou

Hey Lou,

I see that you are still offering hard copies for those folks that don't do internet or just want a "real copy".

Perhaps I misread it, but in one place you say the cost will be $5.00 per issue, but then at the end it is $10.00 annually.

I read it on-line, but am a "hard copy" guy at heart and like sharing copies with folks. I have a handful of non-internet, non-car guy, non-Mopar guy friends and family that I would like to have them sent to...

I know Seymour was covering a lot of costs out of pocket on the mailing side of things, so I just wanted to give you a chance to clarify for everyone the correct cost.

Thanks again to you guys for digging into this and reviving SSRN. I'm sure Seymour is proud :D

On another note: If you think that the proofreading/editing help can be done digitally through email I am more than willing to start helping now if you think it would be helpful. I spend most of my 18-20 hour days 7 days a week strapped to a computer anyway... Consider it and let me know if you think I can be of help.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the offer of editing help. That would be great.

As far as cost, let's call it $5/issue for now and see how that shakes out. We had a volunteer who would print and mail, but that person has not been available. I think we need a new person to do it. There are about 15-20 people who want mailed copies that I know about.

Somehow we need to gauge interest in SSRN, since that is harder to see from internet downloads.

Cheers,

Lou

Lou, I'll take care of getting the copy to the track owner. I have an e-mail in to him for confirmation but it appears that the All-Mopar event is on May 23, 2010. That would be my bet unless I hear different from hm.

Lou is it possible to put a hit counter on the # of times both files are downloaded?

I am sure A super duper HTML GURU can figure this out?

Thank you Lou, Doug, Brian and Menko for carrying on the SSRN tradition. I printed it out yesterday and read it today. Just what I needed to take my mind off how cold it is here! You guys did a great job, I will try to cover a race or two this year.

Thanks, Seymour! That is high praise coming from you. If you can contribute an article or two, that would be great, but only if you feel like it... We had a hard time getting any West races reported, so if you make one of those, that would be the ticket. :D

Glad you like it, Ryan!

Cheers,

Lou

I am very glad to hear that folks are appreciating this issue. We'll start on the next issue. Articles and ideas welcome!!

I'll try to get someone to do the printing/mailing - any volunteers there?

Warm wishes,

Lou
