I'm getting ready to assemble my engine. My Hayes manual says .010 to .020" end gap on the compression rings. I've measured a few of the new ones and they at were .012" It's been about 20 years since i've build an automotive engine, but this sounds pretty tight to me. Can someone confirm what the minimum specs should be? thanks! The motor's a stock rebuild +.040 sealed power pistons, perfect circle rings. It's going into a pickup. |

General rule of thumb is .004" for every inch of bore diameter. Double it for nitrous. |
