i saw on my car [Hyundai accent] that it has 3/8 coolant lines running to the throttle body. I assume that is for heating the incoming air. Also my uncle's commit with the 200 has a hose that runs to and from the base of the carb. I wonder if something could be fashioned to a /6 to improve cold weather driving. thanks for any input |

Your stock intake and exhaust manifolds, or "Stack" are bolted together, providing heat to the intake plenum from the exhaust. Some of the aftermarket intakes have coolant supplied heat provisions built into them, or can be easily fitted to accept such a device. Pop your hood and look at the intake and exhaust. They should be bolted together if your carrying stock parts. CJ |

If you need to improve cold-weather driving, it is because your car is not in proper repair and/or tune, not because it lacks a particular widget or gadget it didn't originally come with. Tune-up parts and technique suggestions are in this thread. Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download. |

Besides, those small coolant lines you see on throttle bodies are not really there to heat the air or improve drivability. Coolant heated anything does nothing for cold start drivability. They are there to prevent icing in the throttle body which could cause the throttle to stick. Some OEMs also use slick coatings inside to help with this. |

good point Dan i will get the engine in a little better repair and, also your right the coolant probably wouldn't be hot enough to do anything. thanks for the input guys |
