Has anyone put one of these Mallory 4562201 in use and if so what are your thoughts? I am building a 225 milled head, decked block, 9.5:1 Compression a lot of porting, big valves and a four barrel. I am looking for the best ignition possible. Thank you in advance

The factory electronic distributor with appropriate advance curves is every bit as good as the Mallory distributor. Teamed with an HEI module and coil you'll have all the ignition you need on 95+% of the slants out there.

I run a Mallory. There is no provision Vacuum advance. Mine is infinitely adjustable 0-28° Mechanical, and with the spring kit the curve is very adjustable.

This part is useful for the application I use it for; Drag Racing. For a street car, you may find it to be a limiter.

As far as economy is concerned, it costs me a mpg from my Mopar EI Dizzy. Maybe.

Parts for the Mallory are more expensive than for the Mopar.

Do I like it for my Drag Car? Yep. Would I put one on my street car? Maybe. For a Daily Driver, no.

:D

I'll be running a mallory in my street/strip car. What gets me is the mounting to the block. How does that work?
