Here is the rest of the post that goes with my electrical fan wiring schematic. The thermostat switch is a Wells TS217, 3/8" NPT, two terminal. Most of the off road guys use this switch in their jeeps. It is also a stock switch found in GM vehicles. My radiator is a stock 74 Dart Modine 2 row. As you can see from my photos (click on the red link below my name, double click on the photo when it comes up for full screen slide show mode) it is screwed into the upper left hand hole. The radiator came with a boss with a 3/8 pipe thread plug where the vacuum switch is installed. The fan is a PROCOMP 16" INCH ELECTRIC COOLING RADIATOR FAN CURVED Rated at 2200cfm CFM Pull-2400-2700 Push 2200-2500 Dimensions 16" x 16.9" x 3.2" Amps 7.5-8.5 Volts 12 BEST PRICE ON EBAY!! FAST SHIPPING!! $24.95 I have run it for four years now driving 130 miles a day. It seems to be very dependable and no problems to date. I am currently running a 205 degree Robertshaw Extra Performance thermostat (#330-205 from Summit Racing) instead of the 195 degree Super stat. It warms up a little quicker and puts out great heat during the winter, as good as my 440 cars. Mileage is better this winter with the 205 degree stat. The engine runs between 180 and 190 while underway. At a light or in bad traffic the fan will engage at 200 degrees. In the summer I have been running the 195 degree Super Stat. In 100 degree weather I run the 180 degree Super stat. Benefits are: great cabin heat, quicker warm ups and better mileage! Hope this helps! |
