I got a 71 s6 duster/twister with drum brakes but my carbuddy found a 73 s6 dodge dart custom in good shape at junkyard wth disk brakes elect. ignition etc.. will the brakes and calibers and MC,Booster etc.. fit or require slight modification. Id really like to upgrade to disk brakes. thanx in advance. |

They will fit. You'll need every thing on both sides form the upper control arm down to the lower ball joints. The lower control do not need to be changed if they are in good shape. The "gotcha" is that they will be "Large Bolt Pattern" ( 5 x 4 1/2" ) while your original is "small bolt pattern" ( 5 x 4" ). This means that you will need to tchange the wheels as well and unless you want to carry 2 spares or gamble that you won't need one you'd be well advised to swap the rear axle assembly as well. It's a lot of work but the reward it that you'll have much better braking ability which means your rise will be safer too. |

As with most junkyard parts take a look, you may need to recondition the bushings, etc... You might as well also grab the torsion bars... your '71 will still have the noodle bars unless you have taken the time to upgrade to V-8 bars... If your duster has 9" front drum brakes, you will need the whole assembly (upper control arms especially, LCA, etc... Good luck, take a BFH, a picklefork, a cheater bar, and a can of PB blaster... have a buddy go as the parts are pretty heavy to haul... -D.Idiot |

**********************************************************An added benefit will be that aftermarket wheel choices will be greatly expanded, too. I suggest you at least get the parts while they are get-able. Even if you don't end up doing the swap, you could probably turn them for a profit at a later date. Roger |

Grab the matching LBP rear end, too. |
