Does anyone know if the Clifford shorty headers will work with the low V-8 starter location. I have a new set of the 63-66 A-body long tube headers and if I go with a 4-speed and my V-8 blow proof, I don't think they will work. I may be wrong on all accounts too! If you have any info on this i'd appreciate it.
I will be ok with an automatic for now, but If I install my 4-speed I don't want to have to alter the rear header. I might as well swap someone for a set of shorty's. Since these are new and obsolete I should be able to trade them I would guess.

I believe that they will clear the low mount Rick. If you ever make it that far I have a set of shorties that will be laying around as soon as the Daytona is done. You're welcome to try them.

I thought they would. I really like how mine fit in the car, but I hate to cut up new headers if I don't need too. I sure appreciate the offer Dennis.

Rick,

I have a set of shortys I would gladly trade you if you get to that point. I don't know if yours will fit with that bell/starter, and I rather doubt it if they are the headers I'm imagining. Keep us up on your progress...

Lou

Lou, Mine are the long tubes like Ron Hamby has on his Dart where the front 3 tubes go down through the K frame. I'll let you know when I get ready to do something for real!

Ooo. I'm not a fan of those due to the ground clearance issue and haven't looked at them too hard. They may actually work for your application. I would have to look at them before trading. Will definitely look at Hagerstown. Sorry if I got you excited...

I also have a set of truck headers where the rear one could possibly work or be made to w/o much trouble.

Lou

I wasn't excited. I'd really like to run mine. I'll just have to see once things are in the car.
