Hey, everyone. I've been an on-and-off owner of a 1964 Plymouth Valiant. I say on-and-off because I go through spurts of massive work on the car to years of neglect. I promise this time it'll be different.

Here is the car as it looked in 2006.

It's currently getting it's suspension fixed so it doesn't bottom out over tiny pieces of gravel.

My brother is a graphic designer and made this poster as a wedding present. I thought I'd share it here.

I look forward to learning more about my mighty 225 on this forum and hopefully gleaning from your collective wisdom.

Thanks, guys! It's great to be here.

Yes, those are American Racing Vectors. The Dukes fan in me couldn't resist when I needed to upgrade to the large bolt pattern for the disc brakes. I like your wheels too. I was considering the black version of them before I found out Vectors were available.

Lou, I think I may have a high res copy of it somewhere. I'll see if I can find it on my computer. My brother also does custom art on commission if you'd like him to do one of your car. I'd have to get with him on cost though.

My wheels (Unique Wheels Series 21, basically Cragar 310's) were the least expensive route to 15X7's I could find, but I think they work well and look OK. Chrysler Rallyes and AR Salt Flat Specials are on my short list for replacement when and if that happens. I hadn't considered Vectors, and would like to see some more photos.

Joshie, yes, I've already blacked out the radiator support. The white was an experiment that didn't work. It looks much bettter now! I really should take some glamour shots ... That one was a quickie taken in the dirt parking lot across from work.

I'd sure like that graphic file. And a quote on one for a white version of the same car!

I love the car and the vectors. Duke boys forever...

I would be interested in one of those graphics for my '64 Dart or '66 "Project V" Valiant/Dart racecar (see http://flickr.com/photos/16910097@N06/). Willing to pay of course. Would also love the hi-res copy of yours if possible.

Looks like your tires are pretty low profile already, so maybe you are set there.

Also, here's the other pic I have of the car with Vectors installed. They look surprisingly good with an A body. You can see how low it's riding due to the sagging suspension though.

The Flying Valiant is back! I drove it up Sunday and it ran just fine. It's visiting Charrlie_S right now, but at least the project is off the ground and going again.

Speaking of off the ground, my dad had some suspension work done to it while it was in his possession. The car is now about five or six inches higher than it was last I saw it with a slight rake to it. The look is growing on me, and I like that it no longer bottoms out over railroad tracks, but the rear end does get a little jumpy over bumps. Something to work on later.

Anyway, here's some pics of what it looks like now. It's going to need some serious TLC, but I'm still excited to have an old friend back.

And yes, I know the air cleaner is filthy. It's on my list.

Also, just for fun, here's a snapshot of me the day we found the car. It was 11 years ago this month. Front tires flat, all four wheels locked, and brake lines reduced to a fine red powder. I was the happiest 15 year old in the world. :P

I recently scooped up a used electronic distributor on eBay for a pretty fair price. It came with new 7mm spark plug wires made right here in the good ol' U.S. of A. It's in pretty good shape for used. Charrlie_S recommended that I check for side to side play in the rotor and up and down play in the gear. I'm pleased to say there was none of the former and only the tiniest motion in the latter (which I'm told is acceptable).

I don't know if this matters or not, but I found these numbers on the metal plate near the vacuum advance.

If anything, this gives me a dizzy to practice on, and it gets me one step closer to an electronic ignition system. That's going to be my project once I get The Flying Valiant back from Charlie's capable hands. I'm sure some of you have already heard about the compressor bracket he's having fabricated for early A-body sixes. It's a really cool bracket and will save any other slanters a world of hurt when trying to do an aftermarket conversion on their early A.

Not to hijack the thread but I'm very definitely interested in AC compressor bracket. I'm aussuming that it is to fit the small Sanden rotary compressor. Pictures will be appreciated as soon as they're available.
