OK don,t shoot me but we are investigating the following two conversions over here Tested and it works very well - Toyota Landcruizer 75 series 4pot calipers - virtual bolt in on LBP cars but you have to fit a 15 inch wheel as the caliper is enormous Testing: Jetta IV TDI 4 wheel discbrake setup for Small bolt patterns - will send pics assap |

Absolutely not. 5-on-100mm bolt circle is not the same as 5-on-4". It is close, but "close" is not acceptable. This is not a safe thing to do. The same goes for 5-on-114mm bolt circle on Toyota wheels, which is not the same (and not safely acceptable) as a 5-on-4½". It probably wouldn't be hard to find 5-on-114mm wheels with RWD offset, but finding 5-on-100mm wheels with RWD offset would probably be difficult.

Dan, I don't know about the Toyota Land Cruiser, But my 86 Toyota PU has 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern. |

RWD toyotas are 5 on 4.5 (at least the vintage ones) aka 5 on 114.3mm |

theoretically sounds good as 114.3 does convert to 4.5 inches but is it 100% exact? Issues with wheel register size would need to be addressed of course. (seems I remember someone saying that the old 300 z wheels were 4.5 bolt patt. along time ago, {way back}). What were the wheel offsets for the various toyota's using this bolt pattern? What cars did they put them on? What diameter would the wheels be? {I wonder why toyota would use a 4 1/2 bolt pattern} |

Yes, 114.3 mm is just the conversion to 4.5". Many import cars have this pattern to make it compatible with US makes. Most are switching or have switched to a metric round number now, but several are still being made. Lou |

Now this is interesting. I will have to check this out at the salvage yard. Actually, this could give some options to wheel choice in certain applications. Maybe brakes too. |

I'm pretty sure that the Doctor Diff rear disc brake kit uses Toyota rotors. Toyota out back and Mustang up front. I use Mercedes rotors in one of my kits. They are close enough to work. The rotor centers on the hub register so the holes just have to clear, they don't need to be perfect. The rotor is held on by the wheel so it can't go anywhere once the whole assembly is together. |

Indeed they do - I have his rear disc kit. They come stock 5 x 4.5"/114.3mm and he redrills to 5x4" for us SBP folk. When I asked for application he said 4th generation 89-92 Toyota Cressida. Pix here.

Interesting, I had't seen the SBP version of that kit before. If you have high resolution pictures and are willing to let me use them in a book I'm writing let me know. I'm not really focused on SBP options but I'll include a picture in the book just to let people know the option exists. It is a nice illustration of the possibility. |
