i need some tips on fabricating a header for my slant. not my first time at the rodeo as far as the tubes go...but the flange is another story. How would one go about reducing (or eliminating) flange warpage? i plan on plasma cutting 1/2 mild steel. is this the best material to use? should i keep each section connected, or have the tubes independent of each other?
thanks.

There are nice flanges on Ebay for a pair of 3 pipes on each flange, which is the best format, IMHO.

I have a set of them and they are very nice. He will also make them in stainless if you so desire.

IIRC, the mild steel ones were about $35.

my personal philosophy is "why buy em' if you can make em?" three pipes on each mild steel flange sounds to be the best format, so its what i will go with. No thanks on the header crazy matt, i think i am going to salvage the bends from a few v-8 headers that are laying around collecting dust. thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated.

 you just blew a hole in my favorite saying! ha ha. i feel as if it would be blasphemous to cut up a slant six header (even if it is just half a header) lets cut up a few more v-8 headers to get those silly wannabe hot rodders off the road.
