We called around and looked on the web but no luck. So I made these for the 72 Duster 225. These are made of 3/16" solid steel, fully welded direct replacement motor mounts. This set was made for testing so they do not have a sale finish just 50 passes in the quarter mile and burnout pit. We will sell these and offer them powder coated in any color and what about chrome mounts? thanks for your input on this Don.

Great race Poly mounts are now available. If your more serious than that Motor Plate is the best route. My02. Frank |

Thanks for your input 66aCUDA.  How much is one of these plates? Do they take up much room? Have not seen many of these for the slant. With the motor mounts being easy to see, I think they would dress up the engine compartment nicely for the car shows and give us added strenth to boot!!  JMO Don

While I don't need any of these right now, let me say kudos to ya for fabbing up parts that slanters might need!  A little chrome might look nice in the engine bay. |

I have a pair of solid mounts in my '66. It took me about 30 minutes to lay them out, and Patrick another 15 to do the welding on them. I simply used a couple pieces of scrap 2X2 box tube. No big deal. Motor plates are nice, but to do them properly you also need to add fore/aft movement limiters. Both solid mounts and plates will get you used to checking most all fasteners on the car to see if they've backed off since last time you ran the car.

Good morning and thank yall for your input on these solid motor mounts!! A little more work to install one of these!!! Sure takes up alot of room, stopping the air flow somewhat. Hole drilling for mounting.   I think it took me 1/2 hour to install the solid mounts and have not touched them since the install. Does this plate change belt line up? What about A/C or power steering? This just looks like it would be nice for a race car. Not a show car JMO to much work for the install Don. Did you see how much they cost? Motor Mounts less than $50.00 now that is a money and time saver, time is money!! Have a good day all Don.

Everyone run,its the grammar police !!!! Twister : I like it. An old trick is running a solid mount on one side and a rubber mount on the other. Kind of the best of both worlds. |

For the Biscut Type a body Mount Left side. 67-72 a body. I just got a Moroso A body - a engine solid Mount and shimmed it to be the Correct Height I have one on the dart and on ruster. For the passenger mount I pretty much did what mister twister did. I don't think there is much of a market for solid mounts when you can easily make them with a mig and some scrap steel or get the engine plate. Greg |

Does it Help Handling? Not that I know of. It helps secure the engine to the frame/ drivetrain eliminating unwanted excess movement and getting more power to the wheels and not losing it through excess momentum shifting in the chassis. Others will chime in too I am sure. Greg |

In theory, moving the motor back will help the car hook. However, when dealing with a Slant in a heavy car I am pretty sure it is a moot point. Will it help handling? I'll leave that to Josh or Lou to debate with you.
