Anyone know how wide a 92 dodge dakota rear end is. I currently have a 73 dodge dart with the 8.25 in it. I have a F-body 8.25 I could put in but it's 3 inches wider than an A-body. I should still have a 1/2 of room. However, I just found a dakota rear end with 3.55 and posi that i could rebuild as my current one i built is a one-legger. I could just swap the guts, and still may. Before i went down this weekend to check it out, does anyone know off hand it's dimensions? I have to cut the spring perches on the f-body's anyways so that's not an issue. I do not feel like narrowing one of these 8.25's though, I don't think its worth it. Thanks in advance. |

The Dak rear is too wide,probly around 62+ inches wheel flange to wheel flange.I was junk yard hopping 2 years ago looking for "cheap and easy" rear for my A-body.I bought a jeep grand cherokee rear that was 60 1/2,I remember the Dak rears being wider yet.After measuring,I knew I would need wheels with alot of offset to make it work.I sold the rear after thinking about how silly it would look. |
