so i was reading the new Classic Trucks mag that came in the other day and saw an article about these. http://www.spliseal.com/

In my opinion, it is just a more expensive, and time consuming way to seal the splice, then a normal butt connector (which this system still uses) with sealant inside a heat shrink insulator.

I like the butt connectors without the insulation.

Crimp, solder, heat shrink... (RTV under heat shrink for a really good seal.

Only the thickness of the heatshrink larger in diameter.
