Anybody have any thoughts on the Offenhauser manifold that uses 2, 1bbl carbs?
Thinking about using this on the 60 Valiant wagon project, but not stuck on the idea, just want to stick with a 60s rather than state of the art upgrade.
Also thinking I've got to do something about the exhaust as the original looks to be about the size of a soda straw.

Talk to Dan about a pair of matched carbs. It Really makes a difference to start off this way. Are you going to use a Holley 1920 or a Carter BBS?

My brother and I found that the offenhausser two carburetors manifold it's a good idea to get better performance at a low cost. What was initially difficult was to find parts of the linkage adjustment of the carburetors and other difficulty was to make chokers work perfectly , we solved the problem by making a sheet steel base for the first carburetor welded to the exhaust manifold. We use two carter carburetors and now we slowly found the ideal adjustment of the floats for gasoline consumption, currently the car gives us an average of 6 miles per litter in the city and on the road an average of 8 miles per liter at a rate average of 60 milles/hr. The engine works smoothly and the car gets a very docile handling, I also own a 1968 Valiant with 318 engine with a four barrel carter termoquad carburetor, as well as other modifications, a 727 gearbox with converter and a 3:51 rear axle, I do not miss it when I drive my 1962 225 Valiant with the offy dual carburetor, It is not as explosive as the other valiant at startup, but is excellent for rapid traffic management, and excelent for long road trips. I completely recommend it.

Thank for posting the pictures Alex. That's the look I'm going for on the 60 Wagon. Really would be easier to go the 390 Holly route but wanted something period correct looking.

Indeed, the decision to place the amendment offty was to maintain a kind hot rod of the time, we had troubles with the height of the 225 engine for placing the filters , because this car has a greater decline in the form of the hood than later models. To prevent the front filter contacted, we had to make some changes to the filter base and we used a bow with screw of the 67 model that is lower, there is a difference in height between each carburetor filter about 4 cms. that are critical to closing the hood. My brother and I have always longed to see a 60 Valiant wagon, because this model never came to Mexico . Good luck with the restoration. Greetings
