picked up a used 2 bbl, seems to be all there, with the exception of an auto choke, Carter, has the number 2543 cast into the side of the body also has a brass tag on the bowl with the numbers 8232S 2298 stamped along with numbers 333 stamped in a larger font. what carb is this? what was it used on? is it a good super six carb? thanks |

gee nobody knows that number? I see the how to ID a super six carb is gone from up top. The flat side is thicker on the 6 carb vs the 318. Also the PCV fitting is curved vs straight on the 318 carb wish I could help you more. |

Nope. I don't have the application for your 8232s carb (my listings end a few years before 8232s) , but it is for one year and engine only. All the OE carbs are. This list of applications you have is some remanufacturer's overly-consolidated, thrown-together piece of junk. Suggest you contact The Carburetor Shop and run that 8232s number by them to get the correct original application. My extrapolated guess is that it is for something in the '78-'81 year range.

Sadly the Carburator Shop's kit/model listing on the website ends at 1979, and that carb number isn't listed... My last BBD for Chrysler listing is in 1979 and is an 8100 number... so it's gotta be an 80-81 model...-D.Idiot |

Yeah, TCS' online listings are my first stop when I'm trying to ID a carb; I found the same short cutoff at '79. But that site hasn't been updated for a long time, which is why I suggest calling them. I have no doubt they can look it up. They are also a good source for serious carburetor kits (w/new jets and everything). |

thanks to all,, I'll end up doing something with this carb, I'll likely rebuild it myself and use it on the 83 D-150 when that project comes together. |
