| Post subject: | o.d. clutch fork question |
the article on the site talks about special clutch fork, but also talks about o.d.trans using v-8 fork,so the question is seeing there are 2 different forks [my car is 72 duster using small fork]the trans I have is 76-77 o.d. I have o.d.bellhousing just no fork,so can the conversion be done just by changing the fork pivot that bewers sells for like 30.00 dollars to use the smaller fork.the pivot they sell is for use with v-8 o.d. bellhousings but looks like the same used in slant housings.I wanting to use this trans but want to have everything together before I start. |

I have never thought about it, but looking at the 1976 Parts Catalog the V-8 and Slant six clutch fork are the same part...So if you have a 1975-1980 A/F body slant six bellhousing you should be able to get an A-body fork and go...if you have a 1981-1987 truck bellhousing it uses a ball pivot and only can use the truck fork. -D.Idiot |
