I live in California and am, unfortunately, governed by CARB. I inherited a 1987 D100 1/2 ton pick-u with a 225 cid. The pick up has about 67,000 miles. I would like to change from carb to fuel injection. I know that Cliffords makes a fuel injection system. I will talk to Clifford on Monday March 29th. (I have also received suggestions to supercharge it.) Has anyone tried this conversion in California? Does anyone have any suggestions, or insights gained from their experience. Thank you for any information. |

DON'T waste your time with Cifford. Use the search button to find out why. |

Check out the Megasquirt page. It's best for what you intend to do, there is a lot involved in getting this moving, and Clifford is not going to be there when you need them (they'll have your money and just tell you it's worked on other cars)... There are a few people here that have done this and can chime in on their experiences and approaches... I don't think there is a CARB EO conversion kit off the shelf for this application. -D.Idiot |

You will have better, easier, cheaper, and quicker results doing a stealth conversion to a non-lean burn carb, non-lean-burn distributor, and an HEI ignition. With a little work, you can leave all the lean burn components in place but disconnect them and run the non-lean burn stuff with HEI. |
