I do not no why all the /6 racers want to run each other in the bracket rounds. I do not have a problem racing anybody anywhere. But it seems to me we should not put each other out in the first round of the bracket races. If it gets down to 4 or 8 cars thats fine but not when there are over 100 cars and we are beating our selfs. if i am out of line telle me if non lets help put more /6 cars in the bracket race. Thanks Ron This has come up all year long at the races .

Lou and myself got put out that way at Clay City but it was a fluke we pulled up and they ran us up front around all the cars to the left, right beside two slant cars. SORRY it was not on purpose believe me. I didn't want Brunner. I still didn't think I would get him but there was an odd number in the lanes before me. By the way I went to the crusie last night it was great 574 cars last count some straight 6's

Ron, I think one of the problems is that when they call us up, everyone goes at once and we all end up in a pile. I don't think it's intentional, but I do believe there are a couple "duck hunters" among our ranks. I personally try to stay away from other Slant cars. You guys always kick my butt. Dennis

Ron,

I totally agree with you. I really did not intend to run another Slant car, and I bet Rodney and Meril did not want to either. The track guy did some "creative corraling" to get is lined up in the end. Dennis is right, we should strategize a bit more in the early bracket rounds.

Lou im not blaming anyone sometimes the starter runs out of 8 lanes. But i have seen this happen all year long. It would be cool for the final round if two slant cars duke it out. I don't line up against slant cars if possible in the bracket races. This year at Clay City A veteran slant driver lined up against me with 24 cars left. Then said i hope we don't have to race each other. Duh. We got luckey because the bye car was ahead of me in my round. Just trying to put some input on the subject. Latter dudes Ron

I might suggest that, with the "following" that's going on in MCG, as well as the "novelty", (if you will), certain starters and track managers are viewing the slant racers as more of an exhibition event than a true bracket car.

This might be partly "our" fault for sticking together as much as we do, as well as their lack of understanding as to why we stick together.

I might suggest that "we" try to stagger the slant cars quite a bit, unless somebody wants a grudge match to happen.

Just my thoughts.

The worst part is that we are at the mercy of the staging stewards. Even in the Slant races where we are supposed to be laddered, the stewards have decided they don't like our system and pair us up however they want. I got stuck racing Mike 2 weeks in a row like that last year.

I never have this problem, out west I'm the only SL6 car at the event!
When another car does show-up, I talk with the driver about how he likes to get into the staging lanes. If he likes to be first in line, I just wait and get in at the end or visa-versa.

Trouble is that if we both make it late into the rounds, the track guys "get wise" and they really start looking to pair-up the slower cars, so as much as you try, you will end-up running each other.
Key is to not have this happen in the first round of action!

I used to run a car truck of another brand and any time another one of the same type showed up they put us together if they could. I guess it the novelty of something, or show buisness or something. Lou and myself waited on purpose till everyone had left at Clay City and they ran us on up I think it was a lot just chance though not the track.
