I start my 65 barracuda that I'm restoring by pouring a little gas in the carb. It starts ok for the next day or so. After that you have to pour gas in the carb again. It didn't do this last year. I am getting gas to the carb, so I guess I need to rebuild the carb. I don't see any leaks anywhere. help |

The newer type fuel evaporates out much easier. I am assuming that the engine is hot from running quite awhile. Installing a heat deflector with double gaskets will help the heat soak problem and the evaporation of the fuel. To view mine, just click on the red link below. Once the picture comes up double click on it for full screen slide show mode. It works very well. |

Thanks for reply. This happens after idleing for a little. Mine is no where near ready for the road. Your Dart is awesome. Pics are great. Keeps my hopes alive for mine. |

It could be a weak fuel pump... Test by disconnecting pump's pressure side fuel line, (at the fuel filter) after a long period of sitting and then crank the engine. You should see a few strong squirts of fuel right when the engine turns with the starter. DD |

thanks Doc. I'll try that as soon as I can rebuild the carb. |
