Post subject:  Relay number

If I want to put a relay on an electric fan as recommened. What is the part number I am looking for? It seems people just grab them at the yard and use them off about anything. Sorry, I'm not that bright electrically. I searched some but didn't find a part number other than Dan's delayed timer one. I'm headed to Advance or NAPA in the next hour. Will either of these places have a suitable relay?

Rick

Tyco (formerly Bosch) is the only brand of relays I use.
They're still as good as when they had the Bosch name.
You can get them off eBay pretty cheap, too.

Post subject:  Dorman Crapped out

As some had mentioned the Dorman relay shorted out at Mason Dixon at the races. It was only in use for a couple weeks. Probably for a couple hundred miles tops! Charlie had a Bosch(I Think) relay which was twice as heavy as the crappy Dorman I bought. Live and learn.

Is there a Tyco Part # for the 5 pin relay I can look for?

Found them on E-bay:

12VDC 30 amp 5 pin Tyco relays. Part number V23234-A1001-X036.
