Hi all,

I was wondering about using the ARP Main studs on the 1 + 4 main and the Windage tray bolts on mains 2 + 3 ...

Will this be OK? I mean to mix the ARP Studs and the regular Windage tray bolts ... Not sure about this.

Or should I go with full ARP Studs on the 4 mains.

Anyway I need to have the block line honed and I'm sure that different grade bolts will not be a good thing ...

Maybe a good thing will be to get ARP bolts with provision for the Windage Tray, but not sure if this is available.

What do you think?

Thanks, Martin

Personally, I'd use the studs and just throw the windage tray in the garbage. :?

There are ARP studs that accommodate windage trays.

I think that this is the way to go ... But then again I want that tray in there so I'm trying to figure out wich ARP Bolts can I use for main 2 + 3 to also bolt the tray, they should be the same grade as the ARP studs.

Joshua, do you have a part number for those?

Thanks for your answers! Martin

Could it be that the Mopar Small block Windage tray instalation package is the same for the Slant Six? I recall reading a Mopar Perf '98 Catalog with the same part number for the Slant Six and SB kit.

If so then the ARP Windage Tray bolts for Small Block must work also for Slant Six.

I'm I correct?

You can use the same main stud kit as a SB Chrysler and end up with a couple extra studs and nuts.

The factory 340 windage tray "tower bolts" can be used on a SL6 if you stack a couple of hardened washers under them. Basically, those bolts run out of thread before fully seating.
I do not know if this problem also applys to the ARP version of this main bolt so measure carefully.

As noted, ARP does have a SL6 main stud kit with windage tray provisions.

Thanks Doc! Can I have the part # for the SL6 main studs with Windage Tray provision from ARP?

I already have purchased the ARP Main Stud Kit # 142-5401 and have the Chrysler 4 Windage bolts....

The best thing will be to buy from ARP only the 4 bolts for the WT ... if not possible, then i'll buy a complete new Main Stud Kit but with windage Tray provisions.

Thanks, Martin
