Will a /6 bellhousing out of a 74 Dodge Van 3-on-a-tree (Sportsman maybe?) work with the 833 OD? I believe ODs came out the following year right?

pretty sure, my 1979 had a 3 on the tree with a slant 6, I pulled just the gear box out of a mid 80s 4 speed over drive manual and it bolted up to my bellhousing

The 1974 bell will be fine for the 4.8" size regular 4 speed and 3 speeds (check the bell it might not have the holes for the 4 speed...)

1975 Model year starts the 5.125" IBR hole for the A-833OD...
(all the way until 1987)
