anyone have any suggestions for a reasonably priced bolt in for a 64 Valiant.

How do you define "reasonably priced"? I bought a custom aluminum radiator for my '62 Lancer. It is skillfully made of high-quality materials, and its price was reasonable at ~$400. If by "reasonable" you mean "cheap", then you're looking at one of the universal "racing" radiators that can be made to fit (sorta) in your engine bay with flex hoses and cutting and drilling. It'll work okeh as long as it lasts, and won't look even slightly original to the car.

I guess that is kinda relative.................but anyone with any mechanical experience at all should be able to tell if you are getting a good deal or not .........whether its gold plated or a core out of a forklift. I think you got a good deal, if you are happy with it, and it seems you are. 400.00 rupees seem reasonable to me.

Or you could save a wack load of money and run a BMW rad out of the junk yard for 40 bux. Aluminum core,plastic tanks this thing is light! Got a buddy running one in his 67 valiant 410 stroker,10-1,563 lift cam,4 speed and he beats on it HARD! Runs perfect and never overheats even in traffic.Another buddy runs one in his 66 Valiant stock slant six 3 speed car,and it also never overheats and he is running the stock 4 blade fan

BMW's litter the junk yards around here.Get one out of a 3 series. One is bigger(might be found in 7 series,better for the 67)and one slightly smaller(better for the pre-66 a bodies.)Some even have a built in temp sensor and come with electric fans.

But thats only if you are willing to do some work,and willing to save about 300 bux.Its not a bolt in per se,because it does not use a body style brackets,but it is very easy to mount even using the stock bmw brackets.

Oh yea,both above mentioned friends are running a combo of the stock slant upper hose,and stock V8 hose.No cut up flex hose.

You guys amaze me? What a great Idea.......... the trick around here is to find a bimmer........I live in west tx where everyone and their dog drive pickups...........but I'm sure going to search till I find one. thanks a bunch

I just use the universal alum rads by AFCO, Griffin, or Be Cool. About $200 for a really nice new one and you just have to fab simple brackets.

If I don't find a bimmer rad within a week or two that's exactly what I am going to do............been putting universal radiators in my race cars for years. The brackets are simple and you always stay cool. thanks for the comment Lou........sometimes you just need someone to push you in the right direction

yeah, but Dan's radiator is a work of art! Look at his pics. Either way, aluminum is way better than the corroded brass/copper it replaces.
