A little background info first. I have an 82 w150 with a slant 6. About two yrs ago, my dad replaced the engine with a rebuilt slant out of a 72 duster. It was having some issues and it has pretty much been sitting for the last two yrs up until about 6 wks ago when I took over the project. It starts kinda hard and usually runs ok for a little while around town. Once it gets warm it will stall out on me and I have to wait about 5-10 minutes before she'll start back up. It smells like it is flooded but I don't know what is going on for sure. I figured if its getting gas maybe it's something in the ignition. So, I replaced the coil, dist cap, rotor, points and condensor, plugs and wires. I dont know what else to do to trouble shoot. I would appreciate any ideas.

What carburator is on the truck?
Take-off the air filter and look into the carb. after the engine runs & stalls-out, see if raw fuel is pouring-in. If so, it is time to rebuild / replace the carb. or at least service the needle valve and / or float.

It has a holley 1920. I'll check and see if fuel is pouring in after it stalls. thanks. Any other suggestions or things to look for?

Sounds like you need a new needle and seat.....make sure the float is set correctly to shut off the gas.
