I have a 1985 w250 225 4 speed 205 t-case dana 60 front and rear 4:56 gears it's a beast. the engine locked up the oil pickup tube broke off where it threads into the block. I bought another motor from my uncle out of an 1984 ram the od read 54,000 i tore it down to reseal looked real good inside. I put new lifters timing chain set and all gaskets/seals My question is how much oil pressure should i have a idle I have 20 at idle and 35 @ 2000 rpms. the oil pressure goes up and down with the rpms is the relief vavle open at low rpms or high rpms? I would like it to stay at 40 psi i also removed the heat exchanger flap from the exhaust manifold and put a bolt through to holes would this make the intake hotter not having the flap to direct the exhaust down when warmed up? i'm going to look at a super six tomorrow complete for $200 |

Oil pressure will go up as the RPM's go up 20 lbs is about normal for idle speed on an used motor, on a fresh motor it will be higher. |
