I've got a 1bbl Carter carb with the #s 6-1697 cast in the side. I'm trying to find a rebuild kit and not having much luck. Any clues?

Thanks - Tom

That's just a casting number -- not helpful for specifying a rebuild kit. The carburetor number would've been on an aluminum tag secured to the carb by one of the bowl screws. Unfortunately, the tag can be left off during reassembly, or can break off. If no such tag on your carburetor, best post some pics.

After some searching, it's the same carb as shown in "dookdart's" post "B and B Carb" a couple of weeks ago.

Edit... My local NAPA guy, who's found some obscure stuff for me in the past, ordered in their part # 2-5500 rebuild kit. By the exploded diagram in the kit it looks like the right one. Won't get to it until next week but think it's going to work.

I'll pm dookdart
