I didn't bother reading all of the postings on engine cooling thread until tonight. I had assumed that this one was beat to death. Well, I have a couple more ideas to throw in just for grins. First let me say, the 50/50 antifreeze mix and the 190 thermostat are right on. Forget the noise and hp loss. If you need/must stick with the original radiator, get as much fan as you can. I'd suggest using one of the plastic flex fans. I try to maintain at least 3/4" clearance to the radiator. Also make sure you're using a fan shroud. If your car has an automatic transmission, disconnect it from the radiator and mount a remote transmission cooler. The street rodder boys mount them to the frame rails next to the drive shaft. Summit Racing has long skinny ones for this purpose. Also, consider a remote engine oil cooler. Summit also has these with the little electric fan already mounted. Both of these coolers will suck more heat out of the engine, leaving less work for the radiator to do. OK, I'm better now, that's my $0.02. Hope this helps. Gilly tlg225ccr@aol.com |

Thanks for the tips! I'm looking to cool my engine as much as possible before I do anything like strap on a turbo. Pat Quote:
