It's a Holley 1945 used in a variety of versions from 1974 on....

Thanks Ted for the speedy response! May I ask how you determined the model?

Visual ID is easy once you've wrenched on these cars enough to spot the various details. Welcome on the board. Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download.

Specifically, your carb is original to a 1983 Dodge Truck/Van with catalytic converter and electronic spark advance. If it's not the vehicle's original carb (which it probably is), it's the correct one. Try to get a Walker kit (number 15560D ); they're the best-quality mass-market kits out there. While you're in there, replace the Nitrophyll foam float with a brass one (Walker number 100-48 ); they're more resistant to the reformulated gasolines available today. If you can't find Walker kits and parts locally, contact them directly.

Welcome on the board!

I own 4 or 5 of these carbs, all original no after market rebuilds and have tried to see if I could get some good performance mileage from them. Like Dan says, they become familiar after you work on a few.

Ted and Dan,

Thanks for all the great info. I was able to get the kit and float just down the street from me from O'Reilly's. I hope fix it up this week. The links you posted Dan I'm sure will be very useful. I'll post my results.

Best Regards,

Kim
