I think I found an inexpensive, stock manifold for my '69 225 slant. It is from the engine period of 1974-1983. From the photos it looks right, but will this mount correctly to my '69? I called Chrysler and all they could tell me was the time period. The casting number is 4100448. Any accurate feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot. |

While not an expert, I believe that it should bolt up just fine. According to what I have read, the major difference between different years/types is the design of the choke stove area and the fact that later model manifolds have extra ribbing to resist cracking. Maybe some of the gurus can weigh in... |

The answer is yes, it'll work, subject to a few mods. You can get a Chinese copycat exhaust manifold for a little over $100, or spend a few bucks more (worth it!) and get a genuine Chrysler one (though it sounds like you might already have your eye on one); see for example here. The manifolds are not car/truck specific. This is a '73-up exhaust manifold that won't properly accept your '69 choke thermostat, so you need to put on a different choke thermostat that will fit the '73-up manifold; I recommend one of the Electric choke kits. It is very much worth your while to get the good gaskets for the manifolds-to-head and intake-to-exhaust junctions. Your '69 original exhaust manifold comes equipped to support the '69-only (in USA) carburetor anti-ice system; the later manifold won't have provisions for this, so get a brass thread-to-¼"-hose-barb fitting, screw it in place of the steel tube at the base of your '69 carb, and connect the flex hose directly from the underside of the air cleaner to the new hose barb. |

Thanks a lot for your replies. That's the one Dan. I hope you didn't start people bidding on it. I can't afford much more. Ahahahah. I will definitely save this info and order that choke therm if I win the bid. If all goes well, the car should be driveable------and not sputtering----in a few weeks. Thanks again. You probably saved me a lot of time, money and headaches. |

Don't worry about it; there's a pretty good supply of the new Chrysler exhaust manifolds on eBay. Me, I bought one last September from that very seller I linked, and there are other sellers, too. Do go ahead and order the good gaskets now so they're in hand when the manifold arrives. |

Thanks for the additional info. Holy *&#%!! I didn't know any gasket this simple could cost that much---especially a good deal. I can afford it though, so I'll make it happen. Kidd-If something goes bad on this ebay deal, I'll let you know, but I'd rather get it new if possible. Thanks for the offer. I might take you up on it, but hopefully I won't have to. |

Yeah, I got sticker shock when I first started looking for it, too. Just about everywhere else I found that stocked it was $20 higher plus they didn't have free shipping! |
