Ok Mark, I can give you some details from my perspective.
17 cars showed for the race. Wayne Erickson unfortunately had some transmission issues (ATF out the front) which kept him from racing. Another racer, Steve I think, (please forgive me for not remembering his name) bent a push rod during time trials. I believe he was able to get a new one installed but if my memory is correct, he went just the one round in eliminations.

Doug on the other hand, was hitting good numbers all weekend which of course took him to the final, which he won. Really nice trophy, almost to big to get in his car.
John Terry was runner up and received a very nice plaque.

For the rest of us, I was fortunate enough to edge PJ out in the first round as she was having some jetting issues. It was really cool to watch Ed changing out jets trying to get it correct.

In the second round John Terry edged me out in a close race. I believe John went on to the next round and won over Wendy Pine our new rookie. Wendy had defeated Fopar (I think) in the first round. Wendy was running great numbers all weekend. In the second round of Sportsman on Sunday she recorded a .02 reation time and ran an 18.72 on an 18.70 dial in. Of course that had to be against me and she and I now have a standing rivallry. :D

Back to Saturday. Dave Erickson was having some type of issue at the top end of the track and I believe he went out in the first round. Both Randy Judge and Eric Erickson both went beyond the first round. My memory stops there.
I will comment on the weather. I don't think it got over 67 on Saturday with moderate winds from the north to north east. Rain threatened all day but we stayed dry. Sunday was just a beautiful day with temps in the 70's. Saturday night it was in the 30's or low 40's. Of course, usually this time of year it is well into the 90's so the weather was really weird.
Great bbq put on by the track Saturday after the race with tri tip and chicken and an assortment of wonderful salads and side dishes... kegs of beer... All free. Most everyone brought something to contribute and there was plenty of free food, soda and beer for all.

Since there is some interest in getting a recap of these races, I will endevor to take some notes and do a writeup at the races I attend. I hope I got the facts correct and please by all means correct my mistakes. Sorry I don't have more.

I have to say that I had a pretty good "set-up" going into that race.
My Lancer ran a 12.90 (cold) and a 12.81 on the second time trial.
(right where it's been running)
Reaction times of .08 & .05
I will have to go back and look but I raced a slower car in the first round and they redlit. I ran my car thru a full pass anyway with a 12.76 et.
Next round I'm "slow car"... paired-up with Aric Erickson dialed at 12.54, I dial at 12.80
We leave clean but Aric goes red but stays in it. I run it thru to a 12.72 That was a fun race the watch and hear, those two cars "sing" well together.
Next race I have Wendy Pine, one of our new racers. She is dialed at 18.76 but she has been killing the tree. I dial down to 12.75 and get ready for a long wait at the starting line... Wendy goes red, I run it thru to a 12.69.
So I am in the final and meet-up with John Terry. (again) Lucky for me that he has been on the other side of the elimination ladder all this time.
I dial down again to a 12.71, closer to my last pass, (12.69) and cut a .03 reaction time, John cuts an .05 light. I get by him like a shot, a car lenght before the finish line and tap the brakes, a 12.80 pass and a win light.
A good day at the track for me.

Thanks for the report Doc,great reaction times.Think I gotta start working on them instead of car.I have changed a bunch of things only to go slower, getting closer to where I was but with lousy reaction times.Wish I was there in person.Guzzi Mark

Doc didnt believe me that my car went missing at half track and went slow. told dad about it and we checked everything & its seem the number 5 plug came loose and dad clean carb and adj little and went out test to see if its missing again and its ran good.
well congrat doug. I had great race on the weekend which I won sunday in sportsmen and Wendy the rookie lady was in semi again. She did great job.
Carl I didnt race with Wendy at all. I was praying hope she can go into the final with me in sportsmen but she lost by the yellow nova which he is good but I beat him with best light lol. which take me into 8th time in row into the finals. :-)

Who is going to Woodburn. I guess I will have to go alone without dad lol. It looks like dad and sergio are going to Denver not sure if they coming up to Woodburn after that but I know dad going to Samoa for his points. Dad won Sat (redding) and Samoa Sunday (eureka). He is crazy driving to Samoa after the redding race, over 299 in the bad weather lol.

I had a great time at Redding even though driver error took me out Sat (breakout) & Sun (red light). Congrats to Doug & John for their winning ways. Still eating tri-tip and chicken from the bbq. It was a long trip both ways (up 5 down 99) with only a few miles longer on 99. 99 has cheaper gas. Won't be making Woodburn but should be at Samoa. Thanks for the hospitality.
