Post subject:  Alternator, water pump and belt

Hi! I've got a 1967 Dodge Dart 270 6 cyl 225 3.7L. The pulley on my alternator stopped turning this weekend  . I've decided to just replace the alternator with a NEW one 8) , not remanufactured  . My fan also has a little give back & forth to it, which someone tells me I may have a water pump problem also. This may explain the high running temp, but I'm also replacing the thermostat, just in case. I will also be getting a new alternator/fan belt.
I am having a very difficult time distingishing between the types of alternators and water pumps :? . For example, PartsTrain.com has two New Advantage Alternators, #N7000 & N7001. The only difference in the description is the model numbers. No listing of how many amps they are.
They also don't say if they come with the pulley or not. I've been unable to locate the part number for the pulley alone.
Can anyone offer advice and/or tips? Your help is appreciated!

You cannot get a proper new alternator from partstrain; those are either "remanufactured" junk or "100% new" Chinese copycat junk. You can get a new Chrysler alternator from Old Car Parts Northwest. Yes, you need a new water pump if your fan can be moved back and forth -- pronto!

If you need too, you can use the old alternator pulley.........

Post subject:  Old Car Parts Northwest

Hi! Thanks so much for the tip! I noticed that Old Car Parts Northwest is working on a website: http://www.oldcarpartsnw.com
There's not too much it yet but it's a work in progress. I dropped them an email with my needs and hopefully they can help me out. If they do not have what I need can you recommend another parts dealer?

Regarding using the old pulley: I will have to take a look at it to see what kind of shape it's in. It appeared to have a very slight wobble
Thanks for the post and the help!
