Found an August 1969 "Rod & Custom" magazine in an Antique shop this weekend. It has an Article about Tex Smith building a Slant Six. Pretty detailed. I'll try and scan it if anyone is interested. |

OK, I have it scanned but no place to host it and don't know how to post it here. If someone wants to help, I'll email the file to you and you could post it for me???? Thanks |

Very cool....I didn't know that Gene Winfield had a hand in that car. I paid for a space, about 15 years ago, at the big Pate Swap Meet in Fort Worth, TX and after the first half day went by, I decided to check the guy's stuff in the big 3-space slot right behind mine. I'd seen a lot of activity...a lot of guys looking at his stuff. So...I'm looking at his neat old vintage hotrod equipment for sale and the old guy comes up and asks me if I need some info and I look up and it's Gene Winfield. Now, to the unwashed, it was just an old car guy, but to me it was like meeting Elvis or Abraham Lincoln. I was just floored...starstruck really. |
