Just dropped in a 1983 225 and can't seem to get all of the vacuum lines routed properly. Anybody know how to obtain a diagram or pictures?

What car are you putting it into? If this is a lean burn engine, in a standard distributor car, you will have to make it either right for the engine, or right for the car, which would mean maybe changing the distributor.

I dropped it into a 1981 D-150. Engine runs OK but need to figure out diifnitively where all of the vacuum lines run to. I have a couple I don't know for sure.

Are both trucks (drive and donor) the same engine management system? Do the hardware bits on the truck match the components on the engine. Most specifically, did both have, or lack, a vacuum pot on the distributor? You are likely going to need a manual for either an 81 or 83 truck here. Too much changed from year to year to know how this was supposed to go without one.

My instinct is to back-date it to about a 72 or 73 system, which would have been the basic Mopar solid state electronic ignition and not to worry about whether everything you have was hooked up. There were systems on the car that controlled timing in ways that were not necessarily the best performance but were trying to control emissions. What do the state laws where you live require? Must you have all the original emissions systems intact?

The engines are the same although the donor came from a Volarie or a Dart, not sure. Swapped out oil pans and oil pick-up tubes. Va. doesn't have an emissions testing standard and I believe that I can probably live with what I've got. I have most all lines hooked up and the engine runs pretty good as is. Not looking at performance as it is my sons first vehicle. A classic and in very good shape.

Thanks

Let us know what the gas mileage is. If it is terrible, then look to the vacuum advance on your distributor to see if it has a vacuum pot first, and if it is hooked up second. That truck should be giving you at least 14-15 MPG if all is right. What kind of carb is on it?
