A while back someone wanted to know if you had to use 198 connecting rods to use the 2.2 pistons. Just wondering if it is possible to use stock 170 or 225 rods in the 170 block, with the 2.2 pistons, IF you use the 198 crank, which would stroke it for the extra length.

Yes, I have built a 198 "low block" and that's a fun little engine. (mine was 3.5 bore, = 209 cubes

You need use the 170 con rods and do a bunch of block and crank grinding work to get the crank's counterweights to clear the block, but it can be done. This is covered in more detail in the "stroking" article.
