Hello newbie to the site here. Found you through EVBC.

I have a 64 Valiant 225 /6.
The head has been deemed non repairable due to a valve beating its way too far into the head itself.

My Question:

What years will fit?
Some of the reading I have done suggests most years will be a direct bolt on. Is this true?? I have no problem retaining the manual adjusted valves as I kind of enjoy tinkering and I'm not totally attached to the idea of spark plug tubes.
Are there advantages to certain years over others?

This car was and will hopefully be a daily driver again. So high performance is not the main concern but if there are suggestions out there I'm all ears.

Thank you in advance and my appologies if I missed a similar answer in the Forum Index.

P.S. Anybody got a head for sale???

I would start here: http://www.slantsix.org/articles/combus ... hamber.htm

Any head up to 1980 will bolt on and accept your original valve cover. The '81+ head for hydraulic lifter engines will also work, but takes a wider valve cover.

BTW, your head should be repairable by using a hard exhaust seat insert. You should have hard exhaust seats put in for all 6 exhaust valves. The valve may have sunk too much to just do a plain valve job, but if the valve didn't strike water the head can be fixed. If this shop can't do it then go elsewhere.
