Anybody know if there is a manual out there that specifies which parts are interchangable from car to car? I've got a '64 Valiant Signet 200 Convertible and was wondering what types/year cars would be good donors.

Thanks,
Jeff

I am pretty sure these books exist, although I cannot remember what they are called. I am also pretty sure the Duster Idiot has a set of them. You might PM him. I seem to remember his referencing them from time to time.

I've got the "red set" that covers 1954-1966, and the gray set that is roughly 1965-1979...

They aren't worth the money now as the board already covers everythig you need to know on interchange and the books don't cover "alternate" interchanges (like the use of the 1967-1969 Barracuda hood on a 1973-1976 Dart.......or putting a late 60's dart dashboard into a 1967-1976 Valiant...or swapping front clips).... They just cover the "hard parts"...stock suspension, wheels, carbs, engines, body panels, doors, drivelines, etc....

Rule of "thumb" is a car from a similar generation will donate about 80% parts to your project...so 1963-1966 Valiant and Darts are somewhat insterchangable...but only certain parts once you go back to the 1960-1962 range...and mostly "hard parts" for the 1967-1976 range (mostly assembly upgrades like disc brakes, engines, etc...)
