I recently purchased from Inline tube, a set of stainless brake lines that were meant to go between a standard master cylinder and a 1976 combo valve. The fitting sizes are 1/2" for the front line on both ends, and 9/16" on the rear line, both ends. The 'custom' lines arrived, and instead of a 9/16" fitting for the valve at the rear line was a 3/8 24 IFM fitting. That meant a trip to the nasty local parts store for an adapter.
Bleeding the brakes after a two-month overhaul of various things, the brakes leaked precisely where? At the parts store fitting. The fitting was to go from a 3/8 24 IFM to a 9/16" "master cylinder" port. Is there a different fitting I should be using, or should this seal? I expect better when shelling out half a day's pay for two brake lines. At least they could mention that this case might occur, and have a fitting available.
