Post subject: | Spec Clutch Slipping Problem Solved |
I sent clutch pack back to Spec after talking to Matt. I got a new unit in about a week, this pressure plate has a additional 1/2 diaphram plate installed with a full diaphram plate. This unit works great,I have been driving car for two weeks and no slippage at all. I can spin 235 70 15s with a high rpm launch or the motor will just pull down at slower rpms. Clutch pedal is stiffer about what my Hayes unit is behind a small block. I do not have the over ride spring on, I may reinstall it to see what it feels like. I would recommend any body buying one to get this modification done. |

Can you explain about the extra diaphram bits? |

Glad to hear they made things right. I'm also interested in the special diaphragm set you mention. Lou |

The pressure plate has a additional 1/2 diaphram spring installed with a full spring it gives alot more clamping force maybe by just shimming the full plate. Its hard to explain I should have taken picture before I put it in car. Call spec ask for Matt he may be able to explain better or send you picture. |
