Alrighty, anyone reckon it is possible to get a wheelie in your car from your 225L slant 6.

To get that kind of thing what horsepower or torque is needed or what is the power to weight ratio etc?

Doesn't have to be much just the front two wheels up a little bit.

Was thinking 500hp. with a 2800stall converter and 4.55 diff gears might help?

Or does anyone know of a slant 6 car that's done this

cheers,

Ben

I could if I added a 100lbs to the rear but then I probably wouldnt get 1.50s 60 fts,and bee in the 11s in the 1/4.If ya just want a wheelie build a 200hp motor and add 400lbs to the rear behind the axel.My Opinion.Guzzi Mark

They had a good article in Car and Driver about two months ago on how to do wheelies. Rear weight bias, high G acceleration, short wheel base, and high CG all tend to transfer more weight to the rear wheels. Your car doesn't need to be terribly fast to pull a wheel off the ground, you do need to apply maximum power right on the starting line-high stall converter, and it helps to have lots of arch in you rear springs on a A body type car. Note that Mark's car has a lower CG and doesn't wheelie but goes faster than the rest of us.

I saw a 65/66 dart with altered wheelbase and straight axle on E-bay about a month ago. I thought to my self, If I had piles of cash, that this would make one wild slant six powered wheelie machine. 8) 8)

"SIX PACK", 66 Valiant, owned by Barry Harrison, regularly carries the front wheels.

This one pulls wheelies and is fast :!: Very impressive. Makes me wonder what this car would run with wheelie bars to keep the front end down
