Post subject:  won't hold steering fluid

I have a 85 d-100 with a power steering leak. I'm not 100% sure where its leaking but, I think its leaking from the steering shaft seal. I have seen repair kits at o'reilly and advance. I would like to rebuild the pump and steering box but I have no experience doing so.

Does anyone know how hard it is to rebuild a steering box?

thanks in advance for any help

When my '75 Coronet PS box developed a big leak at the sector shaft, I followed the 1975 FSM instructions to blow the seal out if you didn't have the very special seal removal tool (my Chiltons manual didn't mention that trick) and it worked great.
