I am trying to find out if our 1970 Barracuda slant 6, 3 speed manual on the floor has the original engine.
The vin on the dash reads BH23BOE141xxx.
The casting numbers on the left drivers side of the block read ( 12075: )
and below that ( 2463430-20 )
Then on the machined surface behind the alternator bracket were the coil also mounts it reads ( B 225 12 08 )
and on the very back right side of the block there is a small machined surface and it is stamped with what looks like a( B).

That is all of the numbers that I could find. I was told buy the vin ,it should have a 198ci but I don't know.

Does anyone know if this might have been a warranty block?
If any body has info on these numbers, please let me know, Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

If it has a 225 Stamped on the pad behind the alternator it's a 225 not a 198.

If it was indeed a 198 it would say 198 in that space that now reads 225.

Casting # 2463430-20 is an earlier, 3 freeze plug block, the correct engine block for a 1970 would have 5 freeze plugs.

1967 is the start of 5 freeze plug blocks. 67 could be either block type.
