okay guys i have a 225 and it hasnt ran is 11 years ran great but the last owner died and they left it in a garage what should i do before starting it.

I cleaned the plugs /changed oil / marvel mysterie oil in cylinders. anything else i should do before cranking it??

the whole truck is laying in my yard im using the frame and motor for my truck so when i try 2 start it just gas in the carb heres a pic what im starting it on haha im using all the the frame and motor for my 61 ford f350

Heck I just used all the Ford stuff and put a slant six in it (about 25 years ago) and still drive it on the street and once in a while 1/4 mile it. :lol:

Take the oil filter off,and squirt plenty of oil in both the passages.Then rotate the engine 1/2 turn backwards,and juice it again,this will help prime the oil pump.

Take the valve cover off and pour some oil over the rocker arms.


Pull plugs, and crank until you have oil pressure.
