ha! i guess we were too busy trying to keep it on the road! current completed work list: 1) carb rebuild 2) timing chain and TC set, ALL of it 3) remanned radiator, all clamps and hoses 4) water pump 5) brakes 6) brake lines 7) master cylinder shocks, front and rear 9) oil sending unit 10) fuel filter (metal) 11) ignition coil 12) alternator 13) starter relay 14) accelerator pedal bolt 15) engine loom 16) dash loom 17) motor mounts 18) valve lash 19) valve cover gasket 20) headlight switch 21) rotor 22) dist. cap 23) spark plugs 24) door pin 25) steel wheel replacement 26) front passenger wheel bearings 27) greased/adjusted steering box 28) bulbs 29) vacuum tree cap 30) wiper blades getting a new bowl gasket tomorrow, and...she's a runner! guess the kid will have to go back to school after all. some of those things seem very minor, but trust me, the tiny things gave us the worst grief....that .87 accelerator pedal bolt ended up costing HOURS of rewiring and labor (wire fire last week) and around $80, conservatively, for new alternator and starter relay as well as wire, connectors, etc. there's no way this list can possibly convey what we have been through with this car (or emma, or marylin. just sayin.'). THANK YOU, NEIL!!!!! |

thanks, if it wasn't for josh,CJ,DI and bobby helping me and teaching me stuff I wouldn't of been able to help. A year @ my familys shop and a year @ wildcat helped also. but this is what it is all about, slanter's helping other /6 people. I'm stoked as hell that Lola is back up and I'm very happy with all the progress. but they are never "done" it's always some little thing but it sure beats payments and these cars have style and soul. and your never gonna get with a new car. welcome to the community! n |

yep...i keep going over everything that could go wrong at this juncture, and we've pretty much covered the bases. still desperately need a steering box and front end alignment (front end drift like you would not believe!), leaf springs are in order as well, but it may actually be time to start prepping her for some body work. and a new floor pan. and...and...and... after all of the harrowing adventures we've had in her, i have come to the conclusion that cars are in fact sentient, and slants are the more intelligent of the breed. it was like the cars were communicating with each other...20 minutes after one got new brakes, the other would go down, but they were always there to back each other up and if we got stranded, it was close to home. though i won't be forgetting the 60 MPH 15 mile flat tow up 26 any time soon. and big thanks to bobby and randy! |
