Post subject: | ecu and coil wiring for hei conversion |
Does anyone have any info or a diagram for an ECU and COIL from a 1996 gm truck? The one I happen to stumble on has pin connectors instead of spade terminals. The coil has 3 pins and the ECU has 4. Has anyone run this type of HEI set up? I assume it is the same as the spade terminals. I can't find a wiring diagram without spending $$$$$. Any help would be much appreciated. MaX |

See this post, http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15779 The 3 pin coil has this for it's hook up. The coil has three terminal pins: A is the coil's primary (+) terminal; gets ignition-on 12v and is connected to module pin "A". B is a tachometer signal output. Not used if you don't have a tach. C is the coil's primary (-) terminal, goes to module pin "D" Hope you got the connecters if not the cheapest place to get the 3 pin connecter is "coil pig-tail" at Rockauto. Richard |

Ok gm coil pin closest to tower is power. Can use 2 or three to trigger module. If your ecu has pins and was mounted to coil bracket on truck it is WRONG. Will NOT work with oem dizzy. You need old stye gm curved module. See my HELP post for wiring details. They are correct and I have other troubles. lol c.r.l |
