Anyone know the thickness of the back window on a 63 Dart?

I have found some 0.093 polycarbonate acrylic sheet that is big enough to cut a window out of, and was wondering if the thickness would be close to correct. I would like to be able to reuse the window gasket as it was not hurt in the fire. Does anyone see a problem using the polycarbonate acrylic as a back window? The only glass window I can find is 2200 miles away and more expensive to ship and insure then it is to buy.

BTW, I found the poly acrylic at home depot, yeah I know, "there is no auto in home depot" but you do what you have to. lol

TopHat,

I happen to have a plastic window and '63 Dart gasket that you could use to make a new window, or just use. 0.093" is too thin, but you could use some sort of spacer around inside the gasket. Original glass it 1/4-5/16" thick. I bought the '63 window for my '64, forgetting they were different.

I use Lexan (polycarbonate) for my windows since it is much stronger and less brittle. It does scratch a little easier than acrylic, though.

There is a great plastics place in Greensboro or nearby.

Best,

Lou
