Post subject:  exhaust for slant six?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement exhaust for my slant six duster? I dont want to do any major upgrades to the engine, the stock exhaust is getting a bit rusty and has a leak at the manifold. I would like a complete, single exhaust with a turbo/cherrybomb/flowmaster type muffler that is about 2 inches in diameter. Does any company make anything for the slant or does it have to be custom made?

There has been much discussion on this topic so you can search for and find plenty to read.

Try this link http://www.accurateltd.com/ Not cheap but at least someone makes it .Might try a older chain shop like Midas that has the old bender cards to make pipes for you.

Ditto for me. Big difference in extra power and better numbers at cruise on the vacuum gauge.

thanks for the help, i did do a search and did not find any posts that had specific systems. I like the look of the waldron's exhaust and the price is fair, not sure if it is a turbo muffer and it does not have the 2 1/4 in the front and 2 in the rear, but i am considering it. any others?

If these places are reproducing stock exhaust systems it's only going to be 1 7/8" for most /6 cars. I would step up to the 2 1/4" Accurate Ltd system or have a 2 1/4" system made up locally.

Try this link http://www.accurateltd.com/63-74-A-Body ... p_193.html for both stock and hp systems note you must call them for price on the hp system. But I do like the price better on your link but it does not include the hangers

When I ordered my system from Waldron I spoke with them by phone and asked if they could do the system in 2 1/4 and they could, I also discussed mufflers with them before deciding on a muffler.

In highschool i Welded a prebent 2.25" pipe to a flange i cut-off an old down-pipe, fed it into a cherry bomb tucked under the drivers seat, with a side pipe coming out behind the driver's sider passenger door. It was realllllly cool sounding and a hell of a lot lighter and more amusing than my current 2.5" tail pipe which really complicated axle clearance among other things..
