High, Been looking on ebay and found a 2bbl slant 6 intake. Its an old one just wanted a bit of advice on how to clean it up. At home I have a sand blaster so was going to blast the whole thing inside and out then just pour alot of carby cleaner inside it to make sure all the sand and oil is out etc, and then paint it. Any recommendations of paint type? I was just going to go to the local super cheap and get the highest heat resistant thickest automotive paint I could find. Also, I am changing from the 1bbl BBS carter carb to a 350 holley. Has anyone else done this and just been able to modify there linkages and brackets? was hoping I'd only need a new kick down cable. Thanks for your help! |

Brussell that sounds like a good plan for cleaning out the manifold but, for the kickdown ect. you will have to fight it unless you can get a compleat linkage set up. Also see [url= http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28812] good luck |

Try this paint. http://www.speco.com.au/vht_flameproof.html I've used it plenty of times. It works very well. You should be able to get it from Supercrap Auto or Repco. |

I just used Mopar Performance engine paint on mine, and it seems to be holding up well after 19 months. |

I'm use a duply color "ceramic" 1500 °F and you can buy it on Autozone. the price round 5 dollars. |

I also think that Duplicolor engine paint will work fine for you. Autozone, or O'Reilly's, take your pick. |
