Is 100 thou too much to take off the head if Im using the K1 connecting rods with the wiseco piston? The cam Ill be using has a 364" gross lift. |

Why do you want to mill the head and run the K1/Wiesco combo? Do you want a 14:1 compression ratio? There might be room for the valves, but then again maybe not. Others have already had to cut the valve reliefs oversize, but mostly because they were using big valves and the reliefs aren't positioned exactly right. |

The K1 / Wiseco parts will give you a 10 to 1 compression ration, "right out of the box". (based on a 56 cc head chamber and a .045 thick head gasket) No head or block milling... outside of a small clean-up cut. (.010 below deck) If we take .100 off the head (appx a 40 cc chamber) you end-up at 12.5 to 1 static comperssion. (way too much for the street & pump gas) As for the cam, what is the intake valve closing point, in degrees? DD |

Thanks guys I thought this would be the case, 10-1 comp ratio is what I was after no higher, I wasn't sure about what compression I would get with these puppies straight out of the box. Intake valve closes at 45 deg. Thanks again! |
