Hi Guys,

Another tech question,

I've converted my 225 to super six. Along with the manifold I also got the choke assembly heat stove. On the choke stove there was a wire connected to some sort of electrical device.
I think it's supposed to preheat the choke spring so it doesn't stay engaged very long, but I'm not sure so:

What is it, and how do I connect it?

The wire you speak of needs voltage anytime the ignition coil is getting power. If you are in a cold area you could put a resistor in the circuit to delay the opening of the choke.

The heating element on the choke used on supersix is actually coupled to an electric assist choke control; they came as single stage or dual stage, my '77 Aspen has a single stag unit.

Normal engine heat will warm the control and energize the choke heater, but after the choke has been opened by engine heat.
There is a lengthy text about the dual stage, but in short it gives a reduced electrical assist in winter normal conditions below 55°F to insure that the choke opens, and full heat after short stops, when engine is hotter than 80°F. In summer it acts like the single stage.

You can see them at Napaonline.com I used the words 'electric assist' to search, others may have them too.

In my car, it is connected to the same circuit that is feeding the ignition ballast resistors, any wire that is live when the ignition is turned on, and is in 'run' mode, will work. It shall not have power when ignition is off. Don't use a too thin wire. Beware, it gets hot to the touch!
