Post subject:  Burn outs.

Hi I'm pretty new to this and I was told recently that doing burnouts can do damage to your transmission. At some point i want to do some burnout comps (Just local stuff nothing huge for a bit of fun) and I want to take my car to the strip a few times. have the 225L with the 904tf and stock diff/axl.

Is this just a myth? Or is there stuff I can do to strengthen the gearbox/ driveline to prevent this from happening?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would worry most about the "stock diff/axle"... more then the 904.

so to be safe upgrading to the 8 3/4 diff ? with a new center etc?
I am putting 3.89 ratio ring and pinion in a few days is this enough?

8 3/4" in my opinion is beyond what is needed for a slant, a well built 8 1/4" rear should be more than enough for a stock/mild slant,

Don't do a burn out in "drive" it could damage the over running clutch.Start carefully in man. 1st,and shift to 2nd as soon as you can.Don't realy get into it untill your in 2nd
